Drake Landing Solar Community
The Drake Landing Solar Community is a master planned neighborhood in the Town of Okotoks that has successfully integrated Canadian energy efficient technologies with a renewable, unlimited energy source - the sun. Built by The Sterling Group, the community is the first of its kind in the world. It's a collection of 52 solar-heated homes in Okotoks that has already become a model for groups everywhere. The project is estimated to reduce green-hose gas emissions for each house by five tonnes per year or 260 tonnes per year for the whole community. That in itself is a huge factor for one resident couple, but it's not the main reason Denise Francis and her husband, Jerry Wolton, moved into their new solar home. "We'd never go back" to a conventional home or neighborhood says Francis. "The success of this project has drawn world wide attention," says Bill Bobyk, General Manager of The Sterling Group. "Over the past two years, in excess of 50 tours have been conducted with delegates as far away as Russia coming to see what Drake Landing has accomplished."
Children's Cottage Society

The Children's Cottage Society proudly serves those in need through a number of programs that aim to keep the children safe and strengthen families. Without the generosity from organizations like the Sterling Group of Companies, vulnerable children would not have the Crisis Nursery, respite and support programs available to keep them safe when they need it. The Cottage is able to respond to the children and parents who come to them when they have no one else to turn to.
