SOUTH ASIA DISASTER – WORLD VISION – LENDING A HELPING HAND
When the South Asia disaster relief effort enlisted the help of Canadian businesses to assist in providing long term shelter needs, water, sanitation and health related aid to those in need, the Sterling Group of Companies was happy to lend a hand. The $5,000.00 donation is directly applied to make a difference where it is needed, including trauma and counseling relief, the preparation of special child friendly shelters and distribution of food and water.
BILL BROOKS CANCER BENEFIT
In support of the Calgary Health Region and Calgary Health Trust – the Sterling Group of Companies team was proud to contribute to the 7th Annual Bill Brooks Prostate Cancer Benefit. In total over $150,000 was raised, all of which will be directed to Prostate Cancer in the areas of research, education and patient care.
ALBERTA CANCER FOUNDATION
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer – supported by the Alberta Cancer Foundation, remains a strong community initiative where patients are the focal point of all programs and benefits. The Sterling Group was honored to participate in assisting in the research to honor lives lost, celebrate survivors and help raise crucial funds for breast cancer research.
MONSIGNOR O’BRIEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
The Sterling Group team is just as committed right here at home to providing support as it is to aiding large associations and charitable organizations. The Monsignor O’Brien Elementary and Jr, High School Basketball Tournament celebrated the Lions Cup in February and Sterling was a proud sponsor of over 120m players and students who were involved in making the day a success.
Recognizing the importance of proper programs and activities for the youth of today has always been a major initiative at the Sterling Group, fostering team building, generating spirit and facilitating an excellent way to channel young minds and energy.
